During Turku Artists\u2019 Association\u2019s century-long history, the annual exhibition has always been a reflection of its current curator. The association\u2019s 101st annual exhibition was curated by Maria Stereo, a visual artist with a diverse artistic career.<\/div>\n

The curator describes the exhibition\u2019s theme as follows:<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u201dOriginally, Odyssey was Homer\u2019s epic tale from Ancient Greece, depicting Odysseus\u2019 adventures, wanderings, and return from the war in Troy. Nowadays, an odyssey has come to mean any epic travel and eventful adventures one comes across in life.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

As I was selecting the works for the 101st annual exhibition of Turku Artists\u2019 Association, I started to see a pattern, a journey with various layers. The works contained references to interesting passages in life: of comings and goings, of returns, and also of staying still and examining the moment. In this exhibition, the artists have embarked upon the odyssey of their own artistry, both together and unmistakably as themselves\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The exhibition also offers a window into the versatile visual expression of 30 artists and art students from Southwest Finland.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Maria Stereo has elected Turku Artists\u2019 Association\u2019s Artist of the Year 2025 from the exhibition\u2019s artists. They will be announced at the exhibition\u2019s opening. The exhibition\u2019s opening will be held on Thursday 9th of January 2025. Welcome!<\/div>\n
