The Annual Exhibition 2022 is the 98th of its kind, and the call for applications was open to all artists and artist collectives from Southwest Finland. This year, the exhibition was juried by visual artist and author Heikki Kännö who selected pieces from 38 artists after reviewing a staggering 160 applications.

The submissions included art from all fields. Paintings, sculptures, installations, photography, graphic prints, collages and video art. The subject matter connecting the pieces was quite traditional. Portraits, still life, clean abstraction as well as landscapes both concrete and of the mind. “The pieces that spoke to me the most were the ones that were connected to each other by some inner tension”, describes author and artist Heikki Kännö.
Kännö has selected The Artist of the Year from the artists´of the Annual Exhibition 2022, who will be announced in the opening of the exhibition.
