Näyttelun juliste

Turku Artists’ Association’s 100th  year of celebration starts off with the 100th annual exhibition: POP, DEATH & CRYWANKS. The exhibition will be held at Iso Galleria 12.1.-25.2.2024

The hundred year old tradition that is the annual exhibition, has its theme always defined by its curator. This year’s celebratory exhibition was juried from over 200 entries by poet and publisher Susinukke Kosola.

“Turku Artists’ Association’s 100th annual exhibition POP, DEATH AND CRYWANKS is the invocation of humanity in the 2020s. Soft pastels and the shady characters of pop culture, polygons and the flashes of rendered digital worlds combine to life’s great and seemingly unchangeable questions.”

The exhibition that is comprised from the works of 29 different artists, draws from modern day’s reactionary visual languages and gives a glimpse of the diverse ways to express visual art.

The exhibition had an open call for all artists and art students from southwestern Finland.
