The results of the second edition of Photocentre Peri’s and Turku Artist’s association’s multilingual workshops Ord och inga visor/Sano se kuvalla are displayed at Kunsthalle Turku from February 21 to March 13, 2020.
The workshops were organized in January 2020 in Pargas. The 7th grade students of Sarlinska skolan and Paraistenseudun koulu participated in the workshops where they communicated in Finnish and in Swedish and learned about digital photography with professional artists Hans G. Hästbacka ja Margarita Rosselló Ramón. After photographing according to workshop’s theme, “contrasts”, the students combined their photos with words in different languages. The theme brought up different colours, emotions and tastes – good and bad, black and white, sweet and sour. There were about 150 participants in the workshops.
The project Ord och inga visor/Sano se kuvalla is realised via Svenska kulturfonden’s program Hallå!. The goal of the project is to create natural ways to increase communication between different language groups when people with different mother languages interact within creative activities. The project Ord och inga visor/Sano se kuvalla will continue until the end of 2020. During 2019-2020 there are participants from various age and language groups in the workshops.
